The Community's 'Vision' for the Fund is unveiled

3000 residents, groups and businesses got involved. The question was simple: What could this fund do to bring real benefit to the local area? The results are in and we’ve prepared a short animation for you to see what your ideas have created – an exciting vision for the future, with very clear priorities. View it here.

In 2015, we’ll begin the work to set up the new independent body which will manage the fund. We’ll be working to make sure that it is ready to start work when the project starts operating late in 2016. It’s now time for communities, businesses, entrepreneurs and organisations in the area to start thinking about what projects they want to deliver to start to turn the community’s vision into a reality. Find out more at a drop in session later this year. Register your interest in the fund here and we will be in touch in the coming weeks.

Notification of upcoming works

Works are ongoing on the Rhigos mountain to connect the project to the National Grid 400kv line at Hirwaun Industrial Estate.

- Craig y Llyn lay-by is currently closed and we expect the closure to remain until the start of July 2015.
- The A4061 Rhigos Mountain Road will also be closed from 6pm on April 10th until 6am on April 13th 2015.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Who are the construction liaison committee?

Keeping the local community informed during construction is an important job. It’s a public access site which is well used by the local community. It’s also a major construction project, and there is a lot of important information and developments that the community wants to know about and understand. One of our most important groups therefore is the Construction Liaison Committee, in their role as a conduit of information from our team on site to the local community. Read more here.

Join us for a site visit

We love a site visit, and across all our projects we offer communities, schools and stakeholders a chance to come and see our projects getting built. It’s important that communities living with this infrastructure know what it’s all about – from the foundations to the tower installation, the onsite monitoring through to health and safety.

Visits will be ongoing over the Spring and Summer months and we hope many local people will take the opportunity to come and see the site for themselves. If you are interested in visiting, you can sign up today!
