New role: Business Manager, Community Energy Wales
About CEW: CEW aims to put renewable energy schemes at the heart of communities in Wales. Community Energy Wales is a membership organisation that represents and empowers the community energy sector across Wales.
About the role:
The Business Manager, as our first employee, will play a crucial role in establishing CEW through:
a. representing CEW at a broad range of consultations, events, and policy forums
b. being first point of contact for member organisations, associate members and partners
c. managing communications to, from, and within the membership, including maintaining the CEW web site, developing social media content, and arranging regional events and seminars
d. coordinating research internally and externally
e. reporting to WG and other bodies
f. working with the Board to make best use of the collective experience and skills within the organisation.
About the candidate:
We are looking for a candidate with excellent knowledge and an established network in the community energy sector in Wales. You will be familiar with the legislative framework and the policy context for community energy both in Wales and across the UK. You will be familiar with the challenges facing community groups at all stages of the process. You will need to be an excellent communicator and project manager with an ability to deliver on a limited budget and adept with office software applications, internet, and social media. First hand experience of delivering a community energy project and the ability to communicate in Welsh would be an advantage.
Details of employment:
This is a fixed term contract to 31st March 2016. It is for 0.6 FTE at a salary up to £30k (pro rate to FTE) depending on experience. The Business Manager role is being hosted by the Development Trust Association Wales in Penarth. You will be expected to work from the DTA office at least once a week, but flexible hours and homeworking will be considered. We would welcome applications from candidates seconded from an existing role. As the term is limited, preference will be given to candidates able to start in post as early as possible.
