Media Trust - The Change Makers

Search for the UK's social innovator of the year

Community Channel’s Do Something Brilliant campaign, funded by the Big Lottery Fund, has teamed up with The Sunday Times to launch The Change Makers, a search for the UK’s social innovator of the year.

They want to celebrate those individuals whose innovative ideas have had a big impact on their community or society in the last five years. It could be the person who has designed an app to promote healthy living or someone who has found a clever way to help young people gain skills for employment. Perhaps you know someone who has found a creative way to unite a divided community or tackle a social problem?

The winner of the competition will receive:

1,000 cash to put towards their innovative idea

National coverage in The Sunday Times

National television profiling on Community Channel

Professional communications support from The Sunday Times and Media Trust

International coverage in 40 countries across the world, as they will be profiled globally in all participating Impact Journalism Day newspapers

The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 and over who have developed an innovative idea that has had a positive social impact in their community or society in the past five years. The simple idea must have had a measurable positive impact, must be replicable and must still begoing.

Applications close at midday on August 25, and you can nominate yourself or someone you know.
