A Prince of solar

Date for your diary Tuesday, May 16th Beaufort Theatre Ebbw Vale 10am - 4pm

Did you know Prince the Artist was a Philanthropist. Donating thousands of pounds to towns and villages to reduce fuel poverty. To commemorate Prince and acknowledge the anniversary of his death 10-10 have launched the Prince of Solar Campaign. The Beaufort is one of the organisations selected to benefit from the campaign and is the only organisation in Wales to be selected. Beaufort Theatre, which utilities are 22k per year, has been taken over by FFin Dance. Fitting solar panels would greatly reduce that cost and would be a very visual statement promoting local action, promoting the benefits of renewable energy. Along with savings, and action on carbon reduction, comes new skills for local people and income generation for the community. Over the next year the Beaufort will create approximately 20 jobs in a wide range of work including running a full time cafe, staging theatre events and increasing classes. Come to this event and meet the groups already taking action and hear more about how they are addressing climate change, through recycling, up-cycling, growing their own food, alternative transport and generating community energy. Also hear from experts in Electric Vehicles, Community Solar and Lighting and get advice on funding your community projects.
